Abstract
The pollen morphology of the Burmanniaceae is very varied, including the following shape classes; ovoid, planoconvex, biconvex, spheroidal, ovoid reniform and tetrahedral tetrads. Two types of apertures, colpate and porate, are common as well as a probably atreme type. The sexine patterns are not very varied. All the species investigated have pollen grains which are pertectate. The morphological features and their taxonomical relevance are discussed. Keywords
