Abstract
The leucocyte count was estimated in 100 consecutive cases of pathologically proved appendicitis. It is concluded that although a white-cell count below 10,000 per c.mm. does not exclude the diagnosis of acute appendicitis, such a result should prompt further review and consideration of the diagnosis. Keywords
