Abstract
In this study, the correspondence problem is analyzed for two different camera-arrangement models based on their geometrical and topological properties. Emphasis is given to the model where the two images (image planes), acquired by moving a camera along its optical axis, are parallel to one another. The advantage of this arrangement over the one where the two images are coplanar is demonstrated, and a correspondence process regarding the motion-in-depth model is proposed.© (1987) COPYRIGHT SPIE--The International Society for Optical Engineering.
