Abstract
The study of 11 Commerson''s dolphin complete skeletons off Kerguelen Islands provided osteological and osteometrical data previously lacking almost completely in this species. Comparison of these data with those of a sample of Commerson''s dolphin off South America and Falkland Islands revealed several differences in the size of the specimens, the proportions of some skull parts and the number of teeth. These findings corroborate data of external measurements and coloration. Morphological differences observed between the 2 populations suggest that the Kergeulen Islands population, which is very far from the main body of the species, is geographical isolate. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
