Abstract
Michell structures are the lightest possible frameworks equilibrating given systems of forces. Solutions are obtained here for structures lying entirely on a half-plane to transmit either cantilever or supported beam-type loadings. The layouts of the structures are analogous to the slip-line fields of plane plastic flow. For the present purpose, the geometry of a special slip-line field is calculated, by determining the analytical solution of a mixed boundary-value problem. Keywords
