Abstract
Grossly the lesion consists of multiple, varied sized gas-filled cysts. The cysts may be located in any or all layers of the gastrointestinal tract, chiefly in the small bowel. Most cysts are partially lined with flat cells. From 50 to 60% are associated with ulcerating and obstructing lesions of the pyloric area. The most accepted theory of etiology is the forcing of gas through the ulceration into lymphatic channels. Keywords
