TRANSTRACHEAL VENTILATION IN PAEDIATRIC PATIENTS

Abstract
Two case reports describe percutaneous transtracheal ventilation using an intermittent jet of oxygen under high pressure in an 11-year-old child undergoing operation for laryngeal stenosis and a 6-year-old child with mandibular facial dysostosis, who became obstructed and cyanosed in the recovery room.
