Abstract
Patients commonly experience sexual dysfunction after myocardial infarction (MI), yet diminished quality and quantity of sexual activity have not been correlated with age or severity of damage. The literature reports that this dysfunction is attributable largely to psychologic factors compounded by inadequate information. The critical care nurse plays a pivotal role in providing sexual counseling post MI.Keywords
