Abstract
Three uncorrelated questionnaire scales were constructed, each of which correlated maximally with factor analytic dimensions of hypnotic performance previously reported by Hammer, Evans, and Bartlett (1963). Correlations between the everyday trance-like experiences questionnaire scales and the respective three uncorrelated dimensions of hypnosis, i.e., dissociation, imagery, and suggestibility, were .61, .65, and .38 ( N = 30). The results are considered tentative, and the study is being replicated. However, the methodological issues raised have important implications for research in hypnosis. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
