Abstract
IN fatal heatstroke widespread hemorrhages are a constant finding. This fact has been emphasized by many authors.1 2 3 4 5 6 Malamud et al.2 analyzed the autopsy material of 125 cases of heatstroke and found multiple hemorrhages in 122, particularly in the central nervous system, heart, lungs, liver and kidneys. The mechanism of these hemorrhagic phenomena has been variously explained. Wright, Reppert and Cuttino3 state that this is due to an increase of capillary permeability in addition to a fall in the prothrombin level and a decreased platelet count. In the present communication we report in detail the findings in a case of fatal . . .Keywords
