COMMITTEE ON MATERNAL WELFARESeptic Induced AbortionSix days before admission a 15-year-old girl was sent home by the school nurse because of bilateral facial swelling, sore throat, post-auricular pain, lethargy and anorexia, all attributed to mumps. Subsequently, she became much sicker, and a rash, dyspnea, chills and fever developed.
