Abstract
SUMMARY A simplified Net Energy system for ruminants is described. It is based on the Metabolizable Energy system outlined by the Agricultural Research Council (1965) and enables a non-iterative approach to be used in the formulation of rations. The method is suitable for use in linear programming work and is illustrated, with appropriate tables, for growing cattle. Keywords
