Abstract
Captopril, an angiotensin-converting enzyme blocker, is used in the treatment of refractory congestive heart failure and severe hypertension. Major dermatologic side effects from this medication include an urticarial or erythematous, maculopapular eruption. A case of exfoliative erythroderma associated with the use of captopril is presented. Although this medication may be lifesaving and have minimal side effects, close attention should be paid to the dermatologic side effects of this drug.
