Abstract
Lithic assemblages found at Karain and attributed to the Upper Palaeolithic together with lithic artefacts collected from the nearby Okiizin Cave are presented here. The study of both assemblages evidences a technological evolution pointing to Okiizin being more recent. Moreover, microfaunal, malacological and palynological studies and analyses have helped reconstructing the climatic conditions prevailing at Karain В during the Upper Pleistocene sequence.
