Abstract
In this article, the Kerpelman, Pittnan, and Lamke (1997) microprocess perspective on identity development is discussed. Comments focus on the role of individual differences and cultural and historical contexts in the model, and questions are raised about the ways in which the model conceptualizes and handles developmental shifts in identity. Keywords
