Abstract
Thin layers of chromium which have fairly good resistance to salt spray and atmospheric corrosion may be electrodeposited directly on aluminum. Such deposits have a gray color on leaving the plating bath and must be buffed if a higher luster is required. These deposits protect aluminum to a marked degree from alkaline corrosion. Heavy deposits for abrasion resistance have also been applied to certain aluminum alloys. Keywords
