Abstract
New integration algorithms suitable for power system transient stability studies are developed and applied to a simple power system example. Both theoretical and preliminary experimental investigations indicate that the new algorithms operate satisfactorily at step sizes five or even te l times those necessary to assure numerical stability when using conventional one-step and multistep methocls. Since the computation time per integration time step of the new methods is similar to that of the conventional methods, the new methods offer significant saving in overall computing effort. Keywords
