Abstract
It is established that the spectral anasatze for longitudinal Green functions in first approximation of the gauge technique fulfil the covariance properties expected on general grounds in ultraviolet and infrared regimes, but possibly not at intermediate momenta. Explicit calculations in quantum electrodynamics conform these statements. Keywords
