Abstract
Previous taxonomic treatments of Neopringlea, typically emphasizing only one or a few morphological features, have allied the genus with as many as five different families: Celastraceae, Hippocrateaceae, Sapindaceae, Simaroubaceae, and Flacourtiaceae. The present study demonstrates similarities in xylem anatomy and external morphology which suggest a relationship between Neopringlea and the small African genus Trimeria of the Flacourtiaceae. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
