Gas Chromatographic Analysis of Kelthane Technical

Abstract
A new gas chromatographic method for the analysis of Kelthane and minor impurities is under investigation. The separation is made on a 6′ glass column packed with 3% Oronite Polybutene 128 on Gas-Chrom Q, using temperature programming from 135 to 205°C. Retention time data for all known components in Kelthane Technical are reported. Work on a quantitative procedure for the determination of active ingredients and minor impurities, utilizing an internal standard (methyl myristate), is in progress.
