Abstract
Dielectric investigations within the commensurate phase of incommensurate ferroelectrics lead to some insight into the kinetics of discommensurations. It is shown that the topological properties and the interaction potential of discommensurations determine the differences between normal and modulated ferroelectrics. Keywords
