Abstract
The complexation of haloperidol (HP) and trifluperidol (TFP) by α-cyclodextrin (α-CD) and γ-cyclodextrin (γ-CD) has been studied by 19F n.m.r. at 295 K. Complexation at the m-CF3(A) and p-F (B) sites of TFP is characterised by stability constants KA= 50±2 mol–1 dm3 and KB= 9±4 mol–1 dm3 in the presence of α-CD and KA= 15±3 mol–1 dm3 and KB= 28±9 mol–1 dm3 in the presence of γ-CD. Similar observations are made for haloperidol.Keywords
