Pions in the cosmic-ray nuclear-active flux at an altitude of 3 250 m above sea level

Abstract
An experiment has been carried out at an altitude of 3 250 m above sea level (Mt. Aragats, Armenia) by means of a magnetic mass spectrometer. The results show the analysis of nuclear-active particles which produce interactions occurring in a series of generators over the magnetic mass spectrometer. The ratio of charged to neutral nuclear-active particles is found to be 1.68 ± 0.16, the ratio of pions to nuclear particles 0.22 ± 0.08, and of pions to protons 0.38 ± 0.13.
