Abstract
I extend the Bloch-Nordsieck idea to show that in the lowest nontrivial order of radiative correction the fermion-fermion and gauge-meson-fermion scattering rates are finite, provided that they are averaged over the initial and summed over the final internal spin states. Questions of the physical gauge coupling and infrared slavery are discussed. Keywords
