ANGIOGRAPHY IN "IDIOPATHIC" FOCAL EPILEPSY

Abstract
Carotid angiograms of 33 patients with "idiopathic" focal epilepsy were analyzed with the help of the Ring-Waddington template.Abnormalities, particularly occlusions of small branches of the middle cerebral artery, were found in 8 (24.2 per cent) cases.Although these results show a lower incidence of positive findings than previously reported, we feel that angiography has a definite place in the evaluation of the patient with focal epilepsy and without evidence of gross cerebral pathology.
