Abstract
Between 1943 and 1947 a daily migration of Perca flavescens in specific locations of Lake Mendota during the summer was investigated with help of gill nets, photoelectric fish detectors, and diving apparatus. A seasonal phenomenon between May and Oct., the migration takes place at sunset and sunrise. The fish move inshore to the 6 m. contour, feeding as they come from deeper regions. Light intensity changes and feeding stimuli only partially explain the movement. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
