Abstract
The 1-metre temperature probe has proved of value in indicating the boundaries of subsurface heat storage at Wairakei. It provides a method of rapid reconnaissance, indicating areas worthy of further investigation by drilling. Examples are given of its use as a prospecting tool on the Wairakei power projects and on a small survey for domestic requirements. Keywords
