Abstract
The author describes the existence of 4 naturally occurring blood group antigens and their corresponding antibodies in the pig (Pi1, Pi2, Pi3 and Pi4). Multiple transfusions of Pi1 blood from one pig into 2 other pigs of anti-Pi1 specificity resulted in the formation of high titers of "blocking" antibodies of anti-Pil specificity.
