Abstract
This article reviews the antiviral features of the acyclic nucleoside phosphonate (ANP) analogues, with a special focus on the most recent findings concerning the biochemistry and clinical efficacy of HPMPC [(S)-1-(3-hydroxy-2-phosphonylmethoxypropyl)cytosine; cidofovir; Vistide®] and PMEA [9-(2-phosphonyl-methoxyethyl)adenine; adefovir].Keywords
