Abstract
Since its first appearance in 1954, polypropylene (PP) has become one of the most important commodity polymers. Among the outstanding properties of polypropylene are: low density, high melting point (167°C), high tensile strength, great rigidity, better stress crack resistance than high density polyethylene, and high resistance to acid, alkali, solvent, and other chemical attack. These properties, which can be varied through copolymerization, allow PP and its copolymers to be used in a wide range of injection molding, film sheeting, fiber, and filament applications. Keywords
