Abstract
Descriptive behavioral statements were written for each of the 609 items found on six career development tests. A total of 117 behaviors were identified. The behaviors were arranged in an outline of career development behaviors. The six tests were compared in terms of their coverage of the major career development components and in terms of the specific learner behaviors included in the outline. This procedure was effective in demonstrating that a specific test will provide an appraisal of only certain behaviors.
