Abstract
An analysis of blood groups of 4541 Japanese of the Tokyo metropolitan area and of 878 Ethiopians (U. N. military contingent in Korea) gave the following results: Japanese, 99.56% Rh positive, 0.44% Rh negative; 33.1% O, 36.5% A, 21.6% B, 8.8% AB. Ethiopians, 95.8% Rh positive, 4.2% Rh negative; 41.2% O, 28.5% A, 24.0% A, 24.0% B, 6.3% AB. (Rh tests refer to reactions with anti-Rho (anti-D) serum only.) All previous data on blood-groups of these nationalities are tabulated for comparison. Evidence is presented for a tendency for group O Japanese to have a higher proportion of Rh-negative individuals than would be expected. Keywords
