LYSOGENY IN MYCOBACTERIA .2. SOME PHAGE-HOST RELATIONSHIPS OF LYSOGENIC MYCOBACTERIA

Abstract
Lysogenization may markedly alter phage-typing patterns of mycobacteria and their lysogenic derivatives. Many alterations in host range between lytic phages and their temperate derivatives appear to be due to host-controlled modification, while others are apparently due to activation of a previously undetected pro-phage. Transduction attempts with rapidly growing mycobacteria were unsuccessful.
