Abstract
Changes of physical and chemical properties of paint films resulting from accelerated weathering have been detected using a new measurement technique: opto-thermal transient emission radiometry (OTTER). Opto-thermal decay times were found to decrease with weathering exposure, the effect being most pronounced in the early stages of degradation. The technique promises to provide a useful means of monitoring paint film deterioration. Keywords
