Abstract
0. Recent studies of phonological structure can be interpreted as confirming the relevance of the dependency or modifier-head relation to the characterisation of phonological representations. * Thanks to Fran Colman, particularly for the morphology. Dependency phonology provides an explicit characterisation of such relations, both with respect to the representation of suprasegmental structure and with respect to the formulation of relationships within the segment. Keywords
