Abstract
Effects of age and weight on carcass traits are presented and discussed. Relationships between gain, TDN, the TDN-gain ratio and midweight are also given. These results are useful in understanding the relationships among the traits studied and as adjustment factors for these traits for steers managed similarly. Many of the relationships studied are known to be curvilinear over long periods of the growth cycle, so that use of these adjustments beyond the ranges of these data should be attempted with caution.
