Abstract
Rare lipomatous lesions are described which were found in a thyroid gland with amyloidosis, in a leiomyoma of the uterus, and in a cicatrix of a myocardial infarction. Semithin and ultrathin sections revealed intracytoplasmatic fat droplets of varying diameter in smooth muscle cells of the uterine myoma as well as in fibroblasts/cytes of the thyroid gland. Regressive changes may be the reason for fat deposition in these cells thus that they cannot be distinguished from original fat cells by means of light microscopy.
