Abstract
The catecholamines (CA) constitute a class of biogenic amines which have long been known to possess hormonal activity and to be compounds biosynthesized via the tyrosine metabolic pathway. Epinephrine (adrenaline) (E), the first hormone was, in fact, isolated by Takamine as early as 1901 from the adrenal medulla (1).
