Abstract
X irradiation of l-glutamic acid·DCl yields the free radical DO2C–CH–CH2–CH(ND3+)(CO2D). The hyperfine splitting tensors were calculated from endor data, and from the subsequent analysis of these data, the structure of this radical was defined. This result was verified from an analysis of the ESR (electron spin resonance) spectra of x-irradiated 2,3,3-trideutero-l-glutamic acid·HCl.Keywords
