Abstract
Cantionensistriol a new triterpenoid sapogenol isolated from the roots of the medicinal chinese herb Abrus cantoniensis Hance, has been characterized as olean-12-ene-3β, 21β, 22β-triol by X-ray analysis of its triacetate; likewise sophoradiol, a known sapogenol from the same source, has been shown to be olean -12-ene-3β, 22β-diol via its diactate. Keywords
