Abstract
The results of a pilot study of 6 women who undertook breast feeding their adopted infants are discussed, with a review of methods available for inducing lactation if this form of infant feeding is undertaken. It is concluded that whilst induced lactation can be successful for the mother and baby, further studies are necessary before conclusive advice can be given that this technique is effective and safe. Keywords
