Abstract
It has been estimated that approximately 60% of all commercial chemicals are now obtained using processes involving heterogeneous catalysis. In fact, over 90% of all new large-scale plants employ heterogeneous catalysts. This can be seen very clearly in Table 1, which lists the top 50 chemicals for the year 1980 [1].Keywords
