Relative size of brain and brain components in three gliding placentals (Dermoptera: Rodentia)

Abstract
The relative weight and the volumetric composition of the brains of Cynocephalus, Iomys, Glaucomys, and pteropodids are compared. It appears that in three well separated mammalian orders and at different places and times, a fairly similar subdivision of the brain was brought about by evolution, which is considered to be a result of a general parallelism in ecological conditions and behaviour.
