A simple angular distribution analyser for a relativistic electron beam

Abstract
The design and fabrication of an analyser for measuring the angular distribution of a relativistic electron beam is reported. The characteristics of the device and its performance in a magnetic field of 0.2 T are discussed. Comparison of the measured angular scattering in a thin anode foil and the theoretical calculations based on multiple scattering of beam electrons shows a good agreement. The utility of the analyser for measuring scattering from a plasma is briefly discussed.
