Abstract
We have observed a doubly excited autoionization resonance to broaden with increasing electric field. This broadening is consistent with the quadratic field dependence predicted by a simple perturbative model, but the magnitude of the observed broadening is about four times larger than predicted. Possible reasons for this discrepancy are discussed. Keywords
