Abstract
Blood smears from silver salmon fingerlings, Oncorhynchus kisutch, dying of ulcer disease showed leucocytes and erythrocytes with unusual characteristics. Macrophage mononuclear leucocytes with vacuolated cytoplasm were seen. Phagocytized bacteria were seen within the vacuoles. Immature erythrocytes with unique morphological and staining characteristics were found in numbers. The presence of these blood cells is a definite manifestation of the disease. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
