Abstract
Following the lead of recent studies linking demographic change with technological innovation, research was conducted in the Rio Grande region of New Mexico to determine if such change had occurred there, and its extent in terms of three technological areas--agricultural innovation, foodwaste management, and time structuring of major economic activities. Evidence from the site of Arroyo Hondo suggests that significant technological change accompanied increased population density, most notably in the areas of food waste and tree harvest.
