Abstract
By the chitosan test it was shown that the body of phoronids is devoid of chitin but the secreted tubes consist of chitin. The shell of inarticulate brachiopods except Craniidae contains a large amount of chitin. Craniidae are devoid of chitin. In articulates there is no chitin in the shell but the cuticle of the pedicle consists of chitin. The exoskeleton of ectoprocts is composed of chitin and this is also the case with the float of the stato-blasts of fresh-water ectoprocts. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
