Abstract
Relative values for the Pauli susceptibility of solid and liquid lithium have been obtained by using conduction electron spin resonance. A marginal oscillator operating at 16 Mc/s was used and by careful sample preparation, high signal to noise ratios were achieved. The ratio of the susceptibilities in the liquid and solid state was found to be 1.04±0.05 and this suggests, assuming that the role of electron-electron interactions is unchanged at the melting point, a rather small change in the density of states at the Fermi surface. Keywords
