Abstract
Since the development of resistance to DDT in the bollworm, Heliothis zea (Boddie), in Louisiana during 1958 (Graves et al. 1963) and in the tobacco budworm, Heliothis virescens (F.), in Texas during 1961 (Brazzel 1963), the control of these pests has become increasingly difficult. The problem has become acute in some areas such as the lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas where the tobacco budworm is resistant to the point of practical immunity to 1 or more representatives of all 3 major classes of insecticides in current use (Graves et al. 1964).Keywords
